The Tokyo Supporting Network for Foreign Residents has been holding the “Professional Consultation for Foreign Residents." This is a consultation service for foreign residents in Tokyo and you can consult with professionals (lawyers, etc.) for free about problems you face in your life in Japan. If you need an interpreter, you can ask for a volunteer interpreter.

You can seek for advice on:

Resident status/visa, marriage/divorce/ family, employment/labor, pension/insurance, taxes, housing, contractual troubles, etc.

Languages

English, Chinese, Korean, etc. (Please make inquiries.)

The free professional consultation is hosted by the organizations belonging to the Tokyo Supporting Network for Foreign Residents, and works as a relay system. If you wish to use the free consultation, please contact the relevant hosting organization.

The types of professionals you can consult with and the availability of volunteer interpreters may differ depending on the hosting organization.
